Education maxxing is the #1 method for marketing
Hey guys!
Had a call the other day with a brand owner.
She asked me something that made me pause:
"Brenden, am I giving people too much info? Are we giving customers more than what they really want to know?"
Here's the thing – she was sending educational content. Real valuable stuff about her products and industry.
But she was worried it was overwhelming people.
Here's what I told her:
The brands I've worked with that have customers on their 16th order? They ALL started with education.
Why education beats discounts every time:
Trust builds faster – People need to understand what they're buying
Creates real loyalty – Educated customers don't chase the next shiny product
Higher lifetime value – She mentioned customers buying for years
Word-of-mouth spreads – People share knowledge, not just discounts
The agencies tried pulling her away from education. They wanted "low-hanging fruit" and impulse buyers.
This is a no-go.
But here's the kicker...
Her most loyal customers? They swear by her products because they understand exactly what makes them different.
The lesson: Don't dumb down your content. Smart customers want to know why your product works, not just that it's 20% off.
One micro-tip: Focus on ONE educational topic per email. Don't overwhelm with multiple links and CTAs. Pick one thing and nail it.
Want your educational content to drive sales (not just engagement)?
